Noticeboard, Sustainable Bishopston

Stainless steel community noticeboard on Gloucester Road, Bristol. Featuring a lockable display, bespoke lettering, and wildlife sculptures.

Commissioned for Sustainable Bishopston—a community-led group dedicated to tackling climate change and promoting local sustainability since 2006—this bespoke stainless steel noticeboard sits proudly on Gloucester Road, Bristol.

Designed to be both a secure, lockable information hub and a striking piece of public art, the board helps the group share news about local initiatives, talks, and environmental events with the neighbourhood.

The structure is crafted entirely from highly durable, low-maintenance stainless steel, ideal for busy high-street environments. The vertical pillars cleverly incorporate the words "Sustainable Bishopston" cut directly into the metal. Surmounting the board is a stylised metalwork crest depicting a sun rising over a cityscape and a bicycle, celebrating eco-friendly urban living. A closer look rewards pedestrians with hidden wildlife details, including a meticulously sculpted stag beetle clinging to the frame, linking the urban environment back to the natural world.
