Puff, The Dragon

Draco magicus

Miniature stainless steel dragon sculpture. Features a bead-welded reptilian body, smooth geometric wings, and a classic spade-tipped tail.

While many of my sculptures are rooted in strict natural history, Puff the Dragon allows for a playful exploration of myth and imagination. This miniature piece captures the quintessential storybook dragon, perched in a low, crawling stance with an alert, tilted head as if ready to pounce.

Crafted from stainless steel, the sculpture beautifully showcases my signature textural contrasts. The dragon's body, limbs, and neck are heavily textured using a bead-welding technique, giving the steel a rugged, reptilian skin. In sharp contrast, the leathery wings are formed from smooth, angled steel plates that provide a geometric sharpness to the silhouette. Complete with tiny horns, distinct claws, and a sweeping, spade-tipped tail, this piece packs an immense amount of character into a small, tabletop footprint.
