Sea Bass

Salmo trutta

A life-sized stainless steel sculpture of a Sea Bass. Capturing the predatory strike and shimmering scales of this iconic British coastal fish.

In this life-sized study, I utilized stainless steel to replicate the sleek, hydrodynamic form of the bass. The metal’s surface is worked to create the illusion of shimmering scales, catching the light much like a fish moving through the surf. By mounting the bass on a dynamic, sweeping "fishing line" base, the piece freezes a split-second interaction between hunter and prey. This work celebrates the raw energy of the species, transforming a familiar maritime inhabitant into a permanent, gleaming silhouette of aquatic power.
